How it works
- 1Configure your settings
Choose video quality (720p, 1080p, or 4K), frame rate (24, 30, or 60 fps), and toggle system audio, microphone, and webcam overlay on or off.
- 2Record your screen
Click Start Recording and pick your source from the browser's native picker — entire screen, specific window, or a browser tab. Pause and resume as needed.
- 3Preview, trim, and download
Watch your recording back, set trim points to cut the start and end, then download as WebM. Your video never leaves your device.
Why Use a Browser-Based Screen Recorder
Traditional screen recording software requires downloading and installing an application, often with system-level permissions that raise security concerns. A browser-based screen recorder eliminates these barriers entirely. It uses the native Screen Capture API built into modern browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, which means the recording engine is the browser itself — no plugins, no extensions, no third-party code running on your machine.
Privacy is the primary advantage. Your screen recording never leaves your device. There is no upload step, no cloud processing, and no server that ever sees your video. The recording is assembled from chunks in your browser memory and written directly to a downloadable file. This makes it safe for recording confidential presentations, internal dashboards, client demos, and anything else you would not want on someone else's server.
The webcam overlay feature lets you add a small circular camera feed in any corner of the recording, which is essential for tutorials, product walkthroughs, and educational content where a face-to-face presence increases engagement and retention. Combined with microphone audio and system audio mixing, you get a complete recording studio in a browser tab.
The built-in trim controls let you cut the awkward start and end of a recording without needing a separate video editor. Set your start and end points visually, then download just the trimmed portion. For quick screen recordings that need to be shared immediately — in Slack, email, or a project management tool — this workflow saves significant time compared to opening a desktop video editor.
Common use cases include recording software tutorials, capturing bug reproductions for development teams, creating product demos for sales decks, recording online meetings or webinars for later reference, and producing educational content for courses and training materials. The 4K resolution and 60 fps options ensure your recordings are sharp enough for any purpose.
