The Practice of Dhikr and Tasbeeh
Dhikr, the remembrance of Allah, is one of the most beloved acts of worship in Islam. The Quran instructs believers to remember Allah frequently, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended specific phrases to be recited after each of the five daily prayers. A tasbeeh, traditionally a string of 33 or 99 beads, helps Muslims keep count during these recitations. This digital tasbeeh brings the same function to your browser or phone, with modern features like progress tracking and customisable targets.
The recommended post-prayer dhikr consists of SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah) repeated 33 times, Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah) repeated 33 times, and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) repeated 34 times, totalling 100. This practice is based on authentic hadith and is considered a means of earning great reward. Many Muslims also recite La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah) and other phrases of remembrance throughout the day.
This digital counter is designed for comfortable use during prayer and daily dhikr practice. The dark green and gold colour scheme reduces eye strain during night use. The progress ring provides visual feedback on your counting progress, and the vibration feature gives tactile confirmation on supported mobile devices. All counting data is stored locally in your browser, ensuring your dhikr practice remains private and personal.
