~180-230 characters when filledHow to write a LinkedIn connection request that gets accepted
Most LinkedIn connection requests are ignored. The default blank request gives the recipient no reason to accept, and the typical templated note — “I’d love to expand my network” — actively signals that you sent the same message to hundreds of people. Neither approach works.
This tool scores your connection request note across five specific factors: personalisation, clear purpose, absence of generic filler, appropriate length for your scenario, and a personal sign-off. Each factor is weighted by its impact on acceptance rates, and the total score maps to an estimated acceptance range. You also get alternative message suggestions built from your context fields — no AI, just structured templates that work.
The key insight is that different scenarios require different approaches. A cold outreach message to a stranger needs more context and personalisation than a follow-up after meeting someone at a conference. A recruiter reaching out about a role needs to lead with a specific profile detail, not a generic “your background is impressive.” The tool adapts its scoring and length recommendations to five common scenarios: cold outreach, warm outreach, peer networking, recruiter outreach, and following up after applying.
