When you need line numbers
Line numbers make text easier to reference in meetings, code reviews, legal documents, and educational materials. Instead of saying โthe third paragraph,โ you can say โline 47.โ It saves time and eliminates ambiguity.
Developers add line numbers when sharing code snippets in documentation or bug reports. Writers use them in screenplay and script formatting. Researchers number lines in transcripts for precise citation. This tool handles all these cases with flexible options.
Pair it with our duplicate line remover to clean up before numbering, or our whitespace cleaner to tidy trailing spaces.
