Document Translator — Side-by-Side

The translator supports PDF (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.docx), and plain text (.txt and .md) files. PDFs are parsed using PDF.js and Word documents are parsed using Mammoth.js — both run in your browser.

Over 40 languages are available including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Turkish, and many more. The tool uses the MyMemory translation API.

The free translation tier allows approximately 5,000 characters per day without an API key. For larger documents, the tool will translate as much as possible and show partial results. There is no hard file size limit for uploading.

The document is split into paragraphs. Each paragraph is translated individually and shown next to its original text. Paragraphs are numbered and colour-coded so you can easily see what translated to what. Hover over any paragraph to highlight its pair.

Your document is parsed entirely in your browser — the file itself is never uploaded. Only the extracted text is sent to the translation API (MyMemory) for translation. The API processes text only and does not store your content.

The tool uses MyMemory, which combines machine translation with a large database of human translations. Quality is comparable to other free online translators. For professional use, we recommend having a native speaker review the output.

Yes. You can download the translated text as a .txt file, or download a side-by-side version that shows original and translated paragraphs together. You can also copy the translated text to your clipboard with one click.

The tool extracts and translates the text content. Original formatting like fonts, images, and layout is not preserved in the output — the focus is on accurate paragraph-level text translation with clear alignment between source and target languages.
