Sort Lines

The tool uses localeCompare() for alphabetical sorting, which handles accented characters and international text correctly. Enable "Case insensitive" to treat uppercase and lowercase letters as equal.

When enabled, the sort key ignores "a", "an", and "the" at the start of a line. For example, "The Great Gatsby" sorts under G rather than T. The original text is preserved in the output.

Lines that begin with a number are sorted by their numeric value. Lines without a leading number fall back to alphabetical sorting and are grouped alongside the numeric lines.

Yes. Check the "Remove duplicates" option. If "Case insensitive" is also checked, "Hello" and "hello" are treated as duplicates and only the first occurrence is kept.

No. All sorting runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and the tool works offline once the page has loaded.
